I have spent the last ten years developing and implementing quality assurance processes in the automotive, aerospace, nuclear, oil and gas industries.

The tragedy at Grenfell shifted my focus to the built environment sector. Following the enactment of the Building Safety Act 2022, I have played an active role by supporting the cultural change needed to reform housing and to keep residents safe. My areas of expertise include safety case regimes, conducting risk assessment workshops and facilitating audits of safety management systems.

 

I specialise in the technical authoring of safety case reports. I understand the importance of assessing legislation to develop manageable processes with the key aim of adhering to the safety act. My academic background consists of a PhD in Engineering at Cranfield University, an MSc in Applied Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing and BSc in Astrophysics.

I have spent the last twenty years conducting research and managing projects for a diverse range of organisations in the not-for-profit sector. I have used my academic background in Sociology, Social Research and Statistics to explore areas such a criminal justice, domestic abuse, poverty, social injustice, housing and educational inequalities.

My core focus has been project management for large portfolios in the delivery of safety case programs. I am passionate about guiding my clients through the legislative requirements and delivering safety case reports using the "claim, argument, evidence" style of writing. My approach to manage and mitigate building safety risks ensures that my clients are ready when the Building Safety Regulator requests their safety case report.

Resident participation is one aspect of the legislation that I am dedicated to, and I draw upon my research background to empower residents by facilitating the design of inclusive engagement strategies.
